CLC Constitutional Approval

CLC has been operating under the same constitution since 2011. Since then, many amendments and changes have been made by the ELCA.  The Constitution Review committee was established in 2024 to update our constitution and bring into compliance with the Model Constitution for Congregations of the ELCA.

The initial review was completed in December 2024 but was not presented to the congregation because more changes were pending from the Synod in June 2025. The committee has completed its review and updates to the Constitution this November and submitted to the Congregation Council at the December council meeting for approval for submission to the congregation.

The revised Constitution for Cooksville Lutheran Church ELCA will be submitted to the congregation for approval at the Annual Meeting on February 8, 2026.

Copies of the proposed constitution are available to be checked out for review from the church office.  Committee members willing to answer any questions from the congregation from the congregation.
